Quick Tips - Summer I '95

Before it gets too hot, how's the Summer heat going to effect your household temperature and more over, your electricity bills?

Though you should have had your A/C checked around March, you may be able to increase your efficiency by adding some insulation to your attic. Blown in insulation can be relatively cheap especially since it's done for you. If it's below 6 inches thick, you may want to add another 6" to 12" of insulation to your attic. Also, if you think that it's not enough, what about wall-injection. A bit costly, but it'll definitely decrease the work on your A/C and cool the house down especially during those unbearable months. Other things to consider may be attic vents and exhaust fans, though these are matters of opinion. Maybe a ridge vent. A wha . . .? Here's a recent conversation on houston.general.
